Hi there!

I'm a grandmother, a nursing educator, an avid knitter and an aspiring writer. I created this page for family and friends who expressed interest in reading my writing. It is mostly poetry with a few short stories sprinkled here and there .

The poem on this page is one my Mom favored. The collectible trinket is from a needlework picture of Longfellow's home she completed. Mom loved poetry and was an avid reader. She and my brother,Rasputin , inspire me still.

"I didn't want to tell you this at work, but..."
Then don't, my heart begged silently.


You, with golden sunlight dancing on strawberry hair,
         And lights twinkling in blue eyes that transfixed me where I stood
You, who left me speechless and took my breath away.
You, who touched my body to life from its long, cold slumber,
You, who plunged me into a whirlwind of happiness , laughter and love
You ,who opened avenues of light into my tightly protected darkness,
You, who my body could not release from passion's grip
You, who cradled my first restful sleep
You, who melted me into fire and swept me to worlds beyond,
         Riding waves of light that I could never imagine.
You, who left me wanting, aching, longing, yearning, alive...


You, who shattered my heart
         Mended my soul.
