About This Author

Hi there!

I'm a grandmother, a nursing educator, an avid knitter and an aspiring writer. I created this page for family and friends who expressed interest in reading my writing. It is mostly poetry with a few short stories sprinkled here and there .

The poem on this page is one my Mom favored. The collectible trinket is from a needlework picture of Longfellow's home she completed. Mom loved poetry and was an avid reader. She and my brother,Rasputin , inspire me still.

I have a published form modification called the Rondel Grand Modified; it is located here:

Drop me a note by clicking on the "Contact Me" link above and let me know you stopped to visit.

Happy reading and write on!

Frayed Feisty Threads - Book IV

...once more in time
The familiar "Darlin'", your Southern drawl
Combined to pull me back somehow
To another time, a place I once knew,
A life I left behind - and you.

"C'mon, talk to me," you said
My heart pounded in my head.
You reached across space and time
Nudging into this life of mine.

Each note you send short or long
Expresses words of interest;
Strewn about, they cautiously
Recall the passion between us.

Larger than life to me you were
Beyond my reach - a dream
Yet I could not resist your allure
A hope, born of love unseen.

Once I did not think you could see
Feelings hidden deep by me.
A relationship of professional name
It never became a lover's game.

The kiss in my office so oft recalled
Throughout the years, -your name, I
Resisted all the memories of you
Now drifting on the winds of fame.

I did not think nor talk of you
A flickering light I left behind
I dared not stay nor intrude
You were the married kind.

Yet now alighting on my door
Incanting once my name
You tore the threshold of memory
Asunder with your flame.

For what is love to those that not
Its passion understand?
A lovers tryst or a lover's knot
Untangled power in gentle hands.

Walking once away from you
Regretting every minute
I can't imagine my world now
Without you somehow in it.
