About This Author

Hi there!

I'm a grandmother, a nursing educator, an avid knitter and an aspiring writer. I created this page for family and friends who expressed interest in reading my writing. It is mostly poetry with a few short stories sprinkled here and there .

The poem on this page is one my Mom favored. The collectible trinket is from a needlework picture of Longfellow's home she completed. Mom loved poetry and was an avid reader. She and my brother,Rasputin , inspire me still.

I have a published form modification called the Rondel Grand Modified; it is located here:

Drop me a note by clicking on the "Contact Me" link above and let me know you stopped to visit.

Happy reading and write on!

dissolving heart
*Heart*

I thought if once I understood
Wretched pain from love and loss,
I'd never regret the chance for
Love – oh perish now the thought!
For deep within my heart and soul
Lies dormant an unnamed ache-
Pain is intense; nothing fills the
Depths in this celestial lake.

Oh to be less than woman fair
And embrace a wanton role
‘Twould satisfy this ache without
One thought or worry of soul.
Complicated is this feeling
As wiser age one attains,
Satisfaction is infrequent;
Yet love's desire still remains.

My body longs for a hug or two
To tenderly cherish warmth of heart.
Sleepily, tonight I dream;
Your arms hold strong, they do not part.
You will not find me if you choose
My companionship for yours.
A quarter century disappeared
And my heart’s dissolved 'mid acrid tears.
