About This Author

Hi there!

I'm a grandmother, a nursing educator, an avid knitter and an aspiring writer. I created this page for family and friends who expressed interest in reading my writing. It is mostly poetry with a few short stories sprinkled here and there .

The poem on this page is one my Mom favored. The collectible trinket is from a needlework picture of Longfellow's home she completed. Mom loved poetry and was an avid reader. She and my brother,Rasputin , inspire me still.

I have a published form modification called the Rondel Grand Modified; it is located here:

Drop me a note by clicking on the "Contact Me" link above and let me know you stopped to visit.

Happy reading and write on!

Miss Loftus
The day was warm and sunny
         And the air was motionless
We all felt very funny
To see her in her dress.

She left the car and up the steps
         She slowly wove her way,
We all stood still and held our breath
         For she was wed today.

In school we laughed and teased her
         We never liked her much,
Yet here she looks so sweeter,
         Within an arm's length touch.

I stood and watched her as she went,
And heard her say "I do !"
Somehow I felt that she had sent
         A message dear and true.

And so when back to school she comes
         I'll try to be polite
I'll just sit back with my lips mum
And try to do what's right.
