She does. It is like sometimes I feel her presence very strongly. Of us five children, I was her favorite. She told me that in the last year of her life. I felt sorry for my siblings who, to varying degrees, were not there for her. |
I've enjoyed it in Philadelphia at the Vietnamese restaurant my neurologist suggested. Pho 20. The food in this restaurant is so good and the prices are reasonable. https://menupages.com/pho-20/234-n-10th-st-philadelphia I haven't found a Vietnamese restaurant here in Vegas that I like. I am a fan of Asian dishes and try to have it at least a couple times a month. I found this recipe online and it's quite tasty even my picky granddaughter likes it. Eggroll in a Bowl tonight. Cheap and super easy A bag of coleslaw mix, you can use the regular or Brocolli slaw mix is good too. A tube of pork sausage, whatever flavor you like, except Maple. 1 Tablespoon Garlic or more, if you like Garlic. 1 teaspoon ginger 1 Tablespoon Onion powder 1 teaspoon white pepper 2 Tablespoon Sesame Oil 1/4 cup soy sauce, or more if you prefer. Fry up your sausage, drain it if there's alot of grease. After draining add the Sesame oil, slaw mix, and your dry seasonings. When it Cooks down to your liking add the soy sauce. Serve it over rice or eat it without. Enjoy Mother's Day! No prompt tomorrow! |
She lives on in you, everyday! |
Beautiful story. Thank you for sharing it with us. |
I love to listen and read at the same time. |
Thanks. I meant to add how lucky I was to have a wonderful mother. |
It is indeed special to hear and to say. Nice use of the words. |
Mine wasn't as nice, I wasn't in a good frame of mind when today. Beautifully done, Joy. |
My neurologist when I was in Philadelphia was from Vietnam, she said their National Parks are so much nicer than the one's she has encountered in the United States. I agree with you seeing animals in their natural habitat is so much better. The music isn't bad, I've been listening while reading and then replying in your entry. |
I didn't know the waterfall was famous and I've never heard of it. I've heard of popular National Parks but not over there. That's pretty cool and I hope you both have fun. Be safe traveling. |
Lovely and economical! I was so much more wordy lol. |
Not all Jews in Israel support Netanyahu either. I no longer have a car. But I remember the open prairie and the dirt roads that crossed it. There's a certain calm driving through nowhere. I try to keep in touch with friends and Reality. I fail some days. |
"A sanctuary of serenity and a true visual feast" sounds fab! |
Everytime a stranger asks me to close my eyes, I keep my eyes open to see what they are up to. Meditation is not for me. But I think most people would have 45 minutes every day if they took that time away from social media or TV watching. |
I learn to appreciate volunteers. They were a big help in Nursing Homes. |
A peaceful day of mediation and reflection is always appreciated. As I was telling Phyllis there is something refreshing in the air like it was just born around a waterfall. For those minutes by the waterfall the outside world vanishes completely. |
OH SANDY! So sorry!!! Beautiful, Sandy! |
Beautiful, Evelyn! I felt like I was right there with you. |
So true, Joy! Volunteering does benefit the volunteer too. Thank you, Lyn, Megan and Neva for volunteering for our wonderful blog challenges! |
That's a great example of wonderful volunteers, Megan! So thankful for them! |
The memories indeed are priceless especially those involved with my children over the years. I took the girl scouts to read to seniors in a nursing home. My own children and I used to do yard cleanup every fall for the elderly in our neighborhood. We had so much fun spending time at their homes, it didn't feel like effort at all. Your last line in this entry applies to Megan, Neva, you and me, I believe we definitely are leaving positive influences on WDC's community. |
I used to take my girl scout troop once a week to read to residents at a nursing home. They were some of my best memories as a leader. The relationships were amazing. |
The Temple is breathtaking. Can you believe it's 350 square miles, so much to see and definitely not enough time to leisurely explore. |
Sounds fun! Especially the secret laneways |
But . . . What's the difference between one being in the soup or in a stew? Is one thinner or thicker? How do writers use soup and stew? |
