About This Author

Hi there!

I'm a grandmother, a nursing educator, an avid knitter and an aspiring writer. I created this page for family and friends who expressed interest in reading my writing. It is mostly poetry with a few short stories sprinkled here and there .

The poem on this page is one my Mom favored. The collectible trinket is from a needlework picture of Longfellow's home she completed. Mom loved poetry and was an avid reader. She and my brother,Rasputin , inspire me still.

I have a published form modification called the Rondel Grand Modified; it is located here:

Drop me a note by clicking on the "Contact Me" link above and let me know you stopped to visit.

Happy reading and write on!

"Love Comes In On Tiptoe"
Sorting through my too cluttered desk
I spy a decorative card-
One of fond appreciation,
Encouragement and kind 'thank you'.
I smile.

High-pitched barking from my spaniel
Reminds me it’s his dinnertime;
Trying hard to write this poem
And trying hard not to rhyme – oops!
I smile.

Soft yarn on a hand-knit sweater
waits for my granddaughter to wear
Labor of love and now finished
For her, navy wears white flowers;
I smile.

Glaring from an office corner
Stands worn bag of unsorted mail
Why did I let it go so long?
To write, to knit, to write, of course!
I smile.

My daily ordinary life
Is not exciting, rather tame,
Simple creative poesy.
"It’s a quiet thing," Sondheim wrote;
I smile.
