Hi there!
I'm a grandmother, a nursing educator, an avid knitter and an aspiring writer. I created this page for family and friends who expressed interest in reading my writing. It is mostly poetry with a few short stories sprinkled here and there .
The poem on this page is one my Mom favored. The collectible trinket is from a needlework picture of Longfellow's home she completed. Mom loved poetry and was an avid reader. She and my brother, Rasputin   , inspire me still.

Denial The irony of letting guns flow
Into the land of the free
Does not make this the
Home of the brave;
It is not a safe place to be.
Yet you fear letting people
Enter into America's land
You fear them more than the guns
That continue to kill
From unstable hands.
Sacred places once revered, respected,
Churches, schools, community halls.
Are no longer havens for refuge.
Soaked in bloody deluge they are
NRA target practice walls.
This is not the America I know,
Where Congress fails to act
To keep us safe from harm at home.
America, where I grew up with love,
Free from fear of attack.
“As my colleagues go to sleep tonight, they need to think about whether the political support of the gun industry is worth the blood that flows endlessly onto the floors of American churches, elementary schools, movie theaters, and city streets. Ask yourself – how can you claim that you respect human life while choosing fealty to weapons-makers over support for measures favored by the vast majority of your constituents. “
