I'm a grandmother, a nursing educator, an avid knitter and an aspiring writer. I created this page for family and friends who expressed interest in reading my writing. It is mostly poetry with a few short stories sprinkled here and there .
The poem on this page is one my Mom favored. The collectible trinket is from a needlework picture of Longfellow's home she completed. Mom loved poetry and was an avid reader. She and my brother,Rasputin, inspire me still.

Joe's Path
Writing about my brother has always been hard. However, as I compile this book of writing that includes tributes to those who have crossed over, it remains bereft of a tribute for Joe. You see his legacy is here, on WDC, where he is known as Rasputin.
He and I both shared a love of Robert Frost's poems; we talked a lot about the roads not taken in both of our lives. Unbeknownst to me, the path he was on was short; but he lived life to the fullest. Frost's poem was a harbinger of things to come.
Because our family tried very hard to keep my brother's spirits up while he was waiting for a transplant, we chose a variety of media to communicate with him and each other.
In 2014, he moved to Florida with his wife and was on the transplant list at the University of Miami hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Here is a peek at the journey.
Joe's journey was a long and difficult one, but somehow we never expected him to leave us. Even though I knew the severity of the illness facing him, I always thought medical miracles would keep him with us for a long time. His story is told through blogs and video links. Although he has only been gone a year, he left a hole in our hearts that we feel each and every day.
