Where did everyone go?
The pitter-patter of playful feet
no longer grace my halls and stairs.
The late-night laughter and conversation
no longer fill the common areas.
The growing pains of children growing up
no longer add to my "character."
Why was I abandoned?
What's next?
A renovation, a remodel, an overhaul
to increase my "curb appeal."
A new addition, professional landscaping... maybe an ADU
to maximize a seller's ROI.
A new owner, with new aspirations
to erase my "character," erase my past
Who will want me now?
And what will they do with me?
