Parody of Reality
| Notes ▶︎ Word count - 98/100 words. Prompt: use these nine words: junket, exhibition, flock, wreck, door, introduce, care, discrimination, and sketch.
Today’s press junket is another exhibition of the very worst humanity has to offer. A flock of squawking parrots with their brightly coloured plumage on display, with little care for actual journalism. They squawk repetitive and mundane questions at the baboon at the podium in a rehearsed fashion. It is a poor man’s comedy sketch. A parody of reality. Except the slow-motion train wreck in front of us is society’s demise. The speaker does little to introduce the facts – that door is firmly closed. Instead, we watch, transfixed at the public discrimination of the truth, videoed for posterity.
