All the Feels
A blazing summer's day in New York City brought the poor, diverse, needy children down to the street corner. They lingered and loafed, too hot and sluggish to play.
A fire truck pulled up. Two firemen jumped out with some tools. They yanked open the fire hydrant.
Floods of cold, clear water gushed out. The children laughed and screamed in glee, running, playing and dancing in the streams of water.
Someone cranked up music, throbbing beats echoing off the walls. An ice cream truck arrived, passing out cold treats for pennies. Everyone was soaking wet, tired and happy that afternoon.
Words: 100.
