Wooden Ship
Over the rainbow, I met a woman with hair of purest white and eyes of blue sky. Her face glowed like sunshine.
“Come with me.”
I followed her to a viking ship, built of finest mahogany, smelling of timber and wilderness. She sailed for distant lands.
“Are you mine?” I asked.
“I am no one's.”
Her eyes were wild like Nordic storms at midnight. Wind lashed at the sails. I manned the wheel, fighting shipwreck until dawn.
At morning’s cold light, she was gone. The ship beached on dry land. I set it on fire, walking away a free man.
