1955 No. 1 Song

Prompt: What song or book was No.1 when you were born?

Sixteen Tons By Tennessee Ernie Ford. What a thrilling song! I was born December 21, 1955. It was before The Beatles made Rock and Roll great. Sixteen Tons. I worked in Nursing in the county home for 30 years. I felt like I owed my soul to the county home. Rock Around The Clock By Bill Hailey and The Comets was out before that. That song I liked.

Some book called Anderson was out. It was about a prisoner in a civil war camp and all the difficulties.

So, that was the No. 1 song and the book on my Birthday. Lovely. What was your song and book when you were born?
