Day 42 Nashville, Tennessee
We get on the Coach to ride to Nashville, Tennessee. We get to hilly country and we know we will be there soon.
True story. I lived in Smyrna, Tennessee right next to Nashville, Tennessee. Dad was in the Air Force. Our next door neighbor was Bobby Harden. He and his sister Arlene were country singers. Bobby and his two sisters had a hit song Tippy Toeing. Bobby and Arlene never made it big and it is sad. They did sing back up for George Strait. Our other neighbor was a General and he was the General MacArthur's Private Physician in the war. One day, Mrs. MacArthur came to visit the Physician.
My grandma got to see Roy Acuff at the Ernest Tubb Record Store. She was so happy. I met Loretta Lynn at her Rodeo and got her autograph. She took time to talk to me. She was so warm and friendly. I saw a singer Bobbi Staff at the Rodeo and she sang. I got her autograph I saw her shopping at the mall the next day. Sadly, she never made it big, either. Loretta Lynn was the Queen of Country Music. Now, it is Dolly Patron and Reba McIntire.
Now, back to the trip.
We are in Nashville. Look at the skyscraper. Nashville has really grown. We go to our hotel rooms. Nice, big beige rooms and some blue ones.
We go the Grand Ole Opry Building. I remember seeing the old one. Keith Urban comes out. I get his autograph. StephBee   WakeUpAndLive  Jellyfish  and I talk to Keith and get pictures with him. Reba McIntire comes out and AmyJo-Moving day's soon here   Sung'manitu

Lyn's a Witchy Woman  and the restless of us talk to Reba and get her autograph. Reba and Keith sing for us. There are some unknown singers and I guess they are new but they are good.
We go to The Johnny Cash Museum. To me, Johnny and Glen Campbell were country music. Sadly, I never met them. I do have an autographed picture of Glen Campbell from when I joined his Fan Club. We see Johnny's guitars, some of his black outfits, pictures of him and June and his children.I bought a Johnny Cash purse. Ring of Fire is playing and we all sing and dance around. Johnny Cashs Gold Record Awards are here. I buy some Johhny Cash key chains. I buy some pictures of him. We buy some CDs of him, Tshirts and postcards of him.I share with everyone as I bought gifts for all of us.
There is a Kate Spade Store next door. StephBee and I bought lavender Kate Spade purses.
The other members are going to explore Nashville and I am going to Smyrna to see the house I lived in. WakeUpAndLive Krista AmyJo-Moving day's soon here go with me. Smyrna has changed. The house my parents and I lived in is bigger and was remodeled. It is half a mansion. The neighborhood has changed. I saw what I wanted to see. Home ain't home anymore. {I actually saw this online.} Lyn's a Witchy Woman Sung'manitu StephBee Jellyfish caught up with us and I am glad the group is with me. We went to Clingermens Dome. It was like a high bridge. We could see the valley below and we rode in cable cars. This is nice.
We go back to Nashville. We go to our hotel and Miranda Lambert is giving a concert in the lounge so we go see her.We get to meet her. She sang beautifully.
It has been a good day. We will have another adventure tomorrow. |
