Dear Time

Time. Is time stored in totes? My mother died and I have totes of her journals, letters from my father from when he was in Vietnam. I have totes of articles she saved and pictures of people who lived over 100 years ago. These things will be passed on to my son. Things here aren't forever. Heaven is forever and I want to be there.
Time. Lovers. Friends. Marriage. Children. Our minds store a lot of things and memories we have forgotten. The seasons. We have memories of time.
Writing a letter to Dear Time. We thank time for the good memories and bad memories. The bad memories made us stronger and who we are and we learn from our mistakes. We try to forget the bad times. Cherish the good.
Visits with Mom and Dad. Dogs and cats we knew and loved. Boxes and totes of memories and items. I have a 70s Smiles trash Can of Mom's journals and letters from Dad I need to go through. I have pictures of the past I need to scrapbook. Time marches on. Shed a few tears.
This country song is neat. Steve Martin. A serious side? Singing about time. Time is kind to some of us and sometimes, not so kind. We travel forward and I will sing this song when I get around to sorting out my mother's items she kept. My parents live on. Old pets live on through memories. Time shouldn't erase everything. We do have happy times. I keep my memories close to my heart. Time can make us crazy. Memories can shine. Try to put a little love in your heart and be thankful for everything you have. Time. Thank you for the moments with Mom, pets I had, my parents and grandparents and friends. Storing treasures in totes and boxes. It's worth it. Thank you Time. |
