Rules
Prompts day 14: Story to include a game or sport.
Sandy scribbled the final squares on her cardboard rectangle and settled back.
“Whatcha doin’?” Her little brother Joey asked.
“I designed a new board game – Oligopoly!”
He leaned in, frowning at intricate paths winding across the board.
“What're the rules?”
“Uh… I haven't figured them out yet.”
“What good is a game without any rules?”
“We'll make them up as we go along.” Sandy waved a handful of business cards marked like currency and tossed the dice.
Total chaos ensued. Joey flung down his cards, stomping away. Mom shook her head.
“Games need rules first, dear. Otherwise you'll have Anarch-opoly.”
Words: 100.
Partly autobiographical.
