How to Retain Your Dragon (Part III)
After defeating a contingent of demons attacking Harborcrest in an attempt to get their hands on The Well and The Way, you take some time to initiate the repairs and rebuilding that are necessary. You put in an order with Azer for a number of specialty items, and Reggie asks his smithy hirelings (Bert & Ernie) to look over the griffon while you all travel to the Outer Plane of Elysium to track down Korrigan’s dwarven friend and repay your debt.

Upon arriving in Elysium, you find yourself on the bank of the River Oceanus, along the top layer of the plane known as Amoria. It’s an idyllic paradise as far as the eye can see and, just as you start to wonder where to go, a friendly Harengon named Tommel comes drifting along in a Mark Twain-style raft. He’s already transporting a disgruntled Kenku named Kenny, and offers you a ride to wherever you’re headed. Everyone takes him up on it except Reggie, who sets out into the meadow in a perpendicular direction, taking Korrigan’s advice about planar travel as literally as humanly possible.

Big-E, floating in the water alongside the raft in a pair of jorts, tries to get to know Kenny by singing “Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree,” which cheers him up only marginally. You help a pair of travelers cross the river when you notice the bridge they were hoping to traverse is out, and any inroads made with Kenny are lost when Big-E grabs him and dunks him in the river trying to cheer him up. To make amends, Big-E lends Kenny his Big-D to try and get where he’s going faster.

Meanwhile, Reggie crosses paths with a gnome trying to fix her broken-down cart, and uses his Giant’s Might to augment his strength and fix the wheel with ease. Shortly after, both the river and Reggie’s road lead to a small town where Ang seems to have taken up residence, thus proving the theory of travel in Elysium correct; when you’re in alignment with the plane (e.g., doing good deeds), you magically get where you want to be. Much faster than, for example, Kenny ... who rides by you on Big-D just outside Ang’s cabin, cursing the fact that he still can’t find where he’s going.

While you were ultimately unsuccessful in convincing Ang to leave Elysium (you get the sense that he found a place where he’s at peace and fears losing it forever if he leaves), he does provide you with a gift for Korrigan (a painting, and a handwritten letter). Taking it back to Korrigan, you realize that Ang has nominated Reggie to take his place as a friend to Korrigan. In exchange for Reggie stopping in and sharing news of the world with Korrigan every so often, Korrigan will help Reggie get to the bottom of the curse that is preventing Reggie from remembering his past. Reggie is surprised by this news, but not nearly as surprised as he is to realize that two weeks have passed, and - upon Korrigan teleporting you back to Harborcrest - that Bert & Ernie have befriended his griffon while you were gone.

You head over to the Kyriellian Convocation, a gathering of the regional governors to discuss news that Ethelberg has mobilized his forces and is heading for Eastern Aleria. Korrigan is also spying on the meeting in a polymorphed form, and you all learn that a massive battle with Ar’unath’s forces seems inevitable. Azura pleads with you to convince Korrigan to help, as well as to seek out Riazsa the Storm Giantess who makes her home at the very northern edge of the Shattered Sea. Before you can finalize your plans, though, the sound of screams and fighting accompany a loud boom that shakes the entire room. A Huge demon bursts into the room through the wall Kool-Aid Man-style, with a few other demons riding his back, ready to attack.
