An Author's Family
Prompts day 25: Story to include writing.com in some way.
I sat at my desk, gazing at the block of words on the screen. My first short story since I'd grown up. I spent weeks getting it out of my head, polishing it as best I knew how. Now what? I squirmed in silent, solitary embarrassment, unsure whether it was utterly worthless.
I googled “free authors feedback exchange” and found Writing.com. “Free email and portfolio services! Honest reviews!” What could hurt? I posted my story.
Reviews flooded in: complimentary, admiring, encouraging. Soon, an anonymous account upgrade followed. Turns out I hadn't found a writing site; I'd found a family.
Words: 100.
Mostly autobiographical.
