Ouch
Four alarm fires rage within,
Words unwhispered, swollen heart,
Saints betray hollow eyes of sin.
Clever wordplay hides shattered souls –
Cryptic wit cuts short before I begin.
What wounds are these I dress with care?
Concerned to present disguises thin,
Yet wielded blades tear them apart.
Nowhere to run from accusations’ pin.
9 lines, 52 words.
Prompt: Poetry Form: Magic 9
Nine lines with the last word of each line rhyming with this scheme:
"abacadaba"
