"Deep inside me, I'm fading to black, I'm fading
Took an oath by the blood of my hand,
Won't break it
I can taste it, the end is upon us, I swear,
Gonna make it…"
From Natural, by Imagine Dragons

Red hoods, Phrygian caps, freedom's copper flavor
Coal smoke shadows, glowing eyes beckoning to escape
Locked, barred, teardrop showers, dingy gray walls
Swapped for swamps, thickets, swinging vines
Unforseeable future, untamed dreams – chasing breadcrumbs.
Dual forces tearing, uprooting, meeting at crossroads:
Exchange mutual respect, each shouldering other's unfitness.
Incongruity collides, innocence dusted over, teeth sharpened,
Momentary lapse of judgment becomes stone heartbeat
As trails blaze red in flagging flames
Wolf darts past, girl presses onward,
Each fate transposed against a world neither wanted.
