A Very Old Find
Oh my, what's this?
I dig through fossilized dirt
Find what I buried: expectations of bliss.
Never thought I'd see them in piles of hurt.
Is it self discovery? Do I dare to dust it off?
Expectations resurrected from the dead?
Maybe now I know I'm enough
Maybe I don't need to be what I dread.
