Info about a cancer resource

It's so bizarre that if you have insurance that you or your employer pay for, you likely have the ability to get rides to medical appointments paid for by insurance. You can do the same if you are on Medicaid. But not if you are on Medicare. Medicare has no provisions nor do they allow supplements to provide something that regular Medicare doesn't offer. This boggles the mind. The very people who are starting to give up driving don't have insurance coverage for rides to the doctor or tests. Weird.

Most of us know that the Pink Ribbon folks are great about offering services like rides for women with breast cancer (men too, if it applies).

Today, I discovered that the American Cancer Society also has a program for providing rides for medical appointments having to do with other cancers. It's their Road to Recovery program.

You might want to put that in your own bag of resources in case you ever need this.

Now...I'm going to call my doctor to let him know too.
