Garden Moment
Flitting by on gossamer wings,
Bulbous eyes of a dragonfly follow me
I pause, tuning in: nature sings
In glorious notes of stone, wind, living tree.
Where did I go wrong, lost my mind?
Mystery plays on my exhausted heartstrings.
My head's static slowly declined
Replaced by calm of beauty Earth's treasure brings.
Blue skies speak silent: “peace, be still,”
Roiling waters wear down mighty outcroppings.
Images clear to focus will.
I proceed, releasing my painful trappings.
12 lines, 77 words.
ABAB rhyme, 8-11-8-11 syllables.
prompt: use words Dragonfly, Mystery, Blue.
