Ocean Sans
splashing, roaring, flowing free
waves oscillating endlessly
eroding all within their path
rising higher, untold wrath
creatures lurking underneath
carry glowing lights so deep
fooling others to survive
illuminate to stay alive
surface storms reach not below
clinging tight to what we know
driftwood, bobbing, goes nowhere
seagulls soar on salty air
tides inexorable, back and forth,
movement stagnates, untrue north
lying riptides pull us down
forward not and losing ground
progress catches winds above
sailing directs chaotic love
18 lines, 79 words.
AABB rhyme.
Prompt: write a rhyming poem about the ocean without using the word "water."
