Lying
Prompt::" Lying is done with words and also with silence." Adrienne Rich What does this quote say to you?
I feel silence is necessary at times to avoid someone being hurt but if it is a case of life and death, by all means speak up! Saving someone from getting fired, you should speak up. If a child or animal is being abused, speak up. Silence won't help in this case. Sometimes telling everything with the intention to hurt someone is never a good thing. Once I knew a guy was having an affair on his wife. I didn't tell the wife. I didn't want to hurt her. Silence is good when you promised to keep a secret for that person. If you tell, you lied. Sometimes silence avoids a fight and an ugly feud. If I told my boss everything that was on my mind, it would be a mess so I keep it to myself. There is a time to speak up and a time to be silent. Lying. Only when it is absolutely necessary or say nothing at all.
