Thieves In The Temple
Love if you’re there come save me, from all this cold despair. I can hang when u’re around, but I’ll surely die, if u’re not there. For every step toward you, it feels like someone is standing in my path, dragging me further back down. You are the one that speaks to my soul and takes me so far away from the loneliness that has become my constant companion. Do they know? Is it possible that they see that you are the light that I cling to?
I need you, need to be near you to stop me from drowning in this tomb of isolation. I long for you to fill me with hope again and pull me through. Love can you hear me? Can you sense the desperation that pulses through my entire being at the thought of another day without you? They are coming closer, preventing me from embracing your light, plunging me back into darkness. Where are you, Love? You promised you would always be there for me. Don’t let them take me from you! Don’t let them steal it all away too soon.
Darkness settles over me, filtering into my soul, pulling me down into its shadowy depths. There is no one for me to turn to, no escape. I feel their feet trampling over me, clawing at my limbs as a searing pain grips my heart. My strength is fading, each beat of my heart slowing as I sink deeper down. Oh, Love, why did you desert me?
