 About This Author
I am a 40 year old married mother of two teenage boys. I live for writing, especially romance. Love the happily ever after scenerio. The best thing about writing for me is the ability to lose yourself in your work, and feel as if you've accomplished something great. At the end of the day, that's all that really matters.

	17 Days
With this pain gripping my heart like a vice, making it difficult to breathe, I find myself drowning in my tears. I want to call you every day, and beg you to be near me, but you’ve moved on to someone else so damn easily. Just knowing that I’m not the one for you makes it impossible to get out of my bed. My room has become a tomb of loneliness, encompassing me, keeping me paralyzed and dragging my energy down. I never knew that love could do this to me, that you would do this to me. I gave you everything in this life that was precious to me, and most importantly I opened my heart to you letting you get beyond my protective wall.

Why don’t you answer your phone? I’ve called you countless times, hoping, praying, begging for you to acknowledge me again. Don’t you know that I am lost without you? Here comes the rain, falling from the sky and hitting my window with a steady rhythm. I stare out my window, my tears mimicking the showers, cascading down my face and picking up in intensity. The rain feels my pain, knows my suffering and cries right along with me. So let the rain come down, let it fall in a torrent and wash away all this pain and misery. Let it find you, pour down on you for seventeen days so you catch a glimpse of what you’ve done to me. I want you to feel this misery, that heartache that stifles your life and makes waking up unbearable. Let the rain come down.

Called you yesterday
You didn't answer your phone
The main drag is knowing that
You probably weren't alone

So here I sit in my lonely room
Lookin' for my sunshine
But all I've got is two cigarettes
And this broken heart of mine

So let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down

You've been gone seventeen days
Seventeen long nights
The main drag is knowing that
You're holding someone else tight

I want to to call you everyday
And beg you to be near me
But I know your head is underwater
I doubt that you could hear me

So let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down

Ha, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Seventeen days
Ha, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Seventeen days

Called you yesterday
You didn't answer your phone
If you're the one who's always lonely
Then I'm the one who's always alone

So here I sit in my lonely room
Lookin' for my sunshine
All I've got is two cigarettes
And this broken heart of mine

Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down

Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down

Why don't you answer your phone?

Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down
Seventeen days

Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down
Seventeen days
