The Study
The Study
It is the smallest room, but in a sense,
the controls of my residence.
I invited Jesus to the study of my mind;
feeling uncomfortable in what He might find.
I felt disgrace, even red-faced -
pure eyes glancing through my bookcase.
Admitting it needed some cleaning;
He agreed there was much I shouldn't be reading.
Throwing away magazines, books, and all;
leaving only His image on my mind's wall.
A half-century (and sixty-six books) later I can say,
Christ is in my study to stay.
