Prompt: Do you think too much movie watching could be dangerous?
Not really. I cry over Titanic, Pretty In Pink, Steel Magnloias? Star Wars and others. If a movie is scary like a nuclear attack or something too close to the truth, I won't watch it
I love Twilight but I don't do vampire movies anymore for religious reasons. I don't watch many new movies but I want to buy Downton Abbey's new movie later.
Maybe those violent movies give people ideas to kill. Makes you wonder. I enjoy romance and some superhero movies. Star Wars and some sci Fi. I suppose some movies can be dangerous. Guess I never thought about it.

I am writing about The 70's Era for a Decade Merit Badge.
The 70's. Woodstock. Love. Peace. The music. Vietnam. Hippies. Incense. I went to high school in the 70's. I wore snake shaded clothes at times with all the accessories. I wore short skirts, leather and I had long hair and looked somewhat like Peggy Lipton. I wore knee high boots. Peace necklaces. Peace signs were in. I later became a hippie for a couple of years after high school. You know what hippies were like. I always wanted to be in the War Protest Groups. I didn't. My father went to Vietnam 3 times. He was a Flight Engineer on Gunships. There were times when I thought Communism wouldn't be so bad. I am glad I changed my mind. I realized why my father was fighting. Peace. I was all about peace and still am. No more communist things for me.
I had a smiley pillow. I liked Lava Lamps and black lights. Nixon was President. Ford. The Vietnam war ended and Dad was coming home but he had to stay 6 months. I was getting ready for the Prom and Miss Indiana Teenager Pageant. No steady boyfriend. Just a guy I met in Arkansas when we lived there while Dad was in the Air Force. Jimmy was going to Notre Dame and I was living back in Indiana.
Vietnam. Other kids heard about Vietnam. It was just a war. Not to me. My father was there, I had to change schools and live with my grandparents and Dad came back and was gone another 2 years. I didn't dwell on it but I knew if they called me into the office, it wouldn't be because I was in trouble. I knew it would be because my father wasn't coming home. Thank God, that didn't happen. He survived Vietnam 3 times. Why did we get involved? WHY DOES THE US DO ANYTHING IT ISN'T SUPPOSED TO DO? The United States had provided funding, armaments and training to South Vietnam's partition into the communist North and the democratic south in 1954. Tensions escalated into armed conflict between the two sides. It lasted 10 years. People say it isn't wasn't our war. If we don't get involved, other countries would try to take over the US. Like 911. Where in the H did that come from? Like Pearl Harbor? The United States is always caught in the middle and we have to fight. Vietnam changed my father. We aren't close but we are in a good place as I get older. I am proud of my father but I was Daddy's girl for 10 years until he went to Vietnam. Each time he come back, he changed. He drank. He found God and changed. Vietnam. No war is good but Vietnam leaves me bitter at times but I got through it. It happened. I try not to hold resentment. Dad lived through it and he did his part. I pray for peace for the world right now. I am thinking of buying peace sign necklaces. We do need peace.
I love watching The 70's on TV and That 70's Show. I had fun in the 70's. I loved the music. That kept us going and the movies. The crazy clothes and platform shoes. The 70's were fun. Pet rocks. Mood rings. I think back. I am an old Hippie now. Hippies were peaceful for the most part. I don't think we will ever find the peace we seek. We will in Heaven. Thanks for reading. I was a 70's Child.

I guess I never thought of moonlight and cows before but cows are probably out eating grass in the moonlight. Maybe cows daydream and bask up the moonlight. The farmer needs to find his cows and he can see them in the moonlight
If he feeds them late, the moonlight helps guide his way and the cows. The cow jumped over the moon. Makes you wonder where did she land?

Prompt: What is your favorite Shakespeare Story?
Romeo and Juliet. It is a romance and I am a big fan of romance Romeo and Juliet were young and if their parents would have gotten along, they could have gotten married instead of committing suicide after they were secretly wed. The movie and the theme song A Time For Us made the movie so romantic and you feel close to the couple. A teen romance and Shakespeare put the love in romance and young life is important.
I hear McBeth is good. Maybe it's because Samantha on Bewitched said her father was good at acting it out and Samantha being a witch.
I just know bits and pieces of the other Shakespeare stories. I should have taken Shakespeare when I was in college when I had the chance. I probably would have preferred Jane Austen 101. Jane, I am an expert in.

Prompt: Have you ever met an author or wrote to one and have one write you back?
Yes. I met an author at Barnes and Nobles who wrote Scottish romances. She was nice and I got her autograph. I can't remember her name or find the book right now. I once emailed Danielle Steel and she emailed me back. I was surprised. She wished me luck with my writing and said she is glad I am a fan and enjoy her books. Another author named Krista Allen writes books about supernatural Halloween characters and wrote to her asking if she was to going to write about mermaids and she wrote me back. What a surprise.
Another time, a Scottish Romance author, Melody Thimas, I was on her mailing list and got an email that I won a copy of her latest book and she would autograph it personally. I wrote back and she said she was going to send me her book. I found out in another email, I hadn't won. I wrote her back and apologized. She sent me an email saying the email list was a mistake and the one winner never answered her email and told me I was a worthy fan because I had written her before. I wanted Adrian Paul to be used as a model for her next book. She said she wished he could have been. Melody Thomas sent me an autographed book of her latest novel. I was so happy. I ordered Lara Parker {from Dark Shadows} her book and she autographed it plus I got 2 autographed pictures of her made out to me.
Kate Collins, a local author sent me 2 book marks of her and her latest book autographed. These things have been quite an honor.

Prompt: What would happen if Andre opened up a bar in your home town?
My town already has 2 bars. Andre is a monkey. Maybe he would make it more fun and have a restaurant that was fancy on the other side of the building. We have people that love to drink and would hang out at the bar. Maybe the people would swing from the chandelier. Have line dancing. Maybe dance to old Rock music. Maybe he could get some old Rock Stars to appear.
What would Andre serve? I used to like Pina Colodas and Tequila Sunrise. Sex on The Beach {the drink, not the wild monkey dance!}, Zombie and Manhattan Tea. I used to hang out with wild people and they might still want to go to the bar. Play some old country music and Rock music. I mean from 60's to 2015. I gave up the new country and now Rock music.
Andre might need some good bouncers like gorilla or some other monkey primates. Andre could hire humans to work for him and serve drinks and take food orders.
Would Andre decorate his bar like a jungle, with a bridge or bamboo chairs, hummocks or swinging lights? Maybe pictures of his monkey family and friends? Maybe have the men who work there dress like Tarzan in loin cloths and the women like Jane. Do I dare offer a chimpanzee named Cheetah? Play the Guitarzan Song By Ray Stevens? Hopefully, no one will swing from the ceiling and hop from table to table.
Maybe Andre could make the bar look like a country cottage and have a drink limit. If you get mad or mean, a monkey would toss the person out. A country cottage would be more like a family setting.
A farmer's bar. Pictures of tractors, crops, cows, horses. Maybe a western bar. Horse pictures. A mechanical bull. Stay on the bull 10 minutes and get a free drink. Make the bar look like a barn. Put a fake horse or cow in in with hay or a hay wagon for decoration. Maybe a ranch post and some men and women dress up like cowboys and cowgirls. You would be playing all country music. Have a stage coach with seats to sit in.
Maybe Andre would like an ocean scene. A ocean picture. A big grass hut or bamboo hut that looks like Gilligan's Island. Maybe a boat like the SS Minnow. A life perserver on the wall and a captain steering wheel. Andre could wear a Captain' hat and a captain suit. If he pitches a fit, we can skip that idea. Maybe a Ginger look alike could sing like Marilyn Monroe for the customers. A girl like Mary Ann could serve the customers.
Some more drinks to serve. Bloody Mary, Daiquiri, Moscow Mule, Amaretto Sour, Aviation, Bellini, Black Russian, Brandy Alexander, Bronx Cocktail, Cosmopolitan, Dark and Stormy, Greyhound. These are a few I found.
I hope Andre enjoyed these decorating ideas and drinks list suggestions. This challenge has been fun. Home Sweet Home! Thank you for visiting!

Prompt: What is the biggest plus about your town?
It is a small town. I live in the country. We have a Dollar General Store that just moved in. Our town hasn't had a grocery store of any kind in years. WE have the convience store where you can get gas and goodies but Dollar General has more to offer.
Things are quiet in our town. We don't have any murders. A repair shop was robbed 20 years ago. They tied the poor guy up, a friend of mine and threw behind the counter. He got fired for no good reason. A murder happened years ago. I wrote about Al Capone and all the bodies he buried.
A plus for our town. We do a lot of farming. You used to be get off the passenger train in my town if you were going to stay with a relative or a friend in our town.
They have Auctions at a big building off the highway. I only went one years ago. The Auction served hamburgers, fries and drinks.
Kids can race go carts at a place in town.
The 4H Fair 4H Kids enter their animals and you can enter crafts and win ribbons. I won Grand Champion and Champion on my Scrapbooks. They have bake sales at the fair. You can visit old friends at the fair you haven't seen.
Everyone knows everybody. Farmers are helpful and will help you if your car breaks down or you get stuck in a blizzard. Living down country roads and being snow bound, snow plows plow snow all day until the roads are pretty much clear. It may take time but you will get plowed out.
There are farm shows with tractors close by in other towns and flea markets.
We have a library and if you can't find the books you want, the other libraries in towns close by will send the book out.
There is a Santa Claus every year by the police station in town. The kids can see him and get a present.
We do have a Fire Department and they are helpful. Our house burned down 22 years ago and the Fire Department were nice. They helped save a lot of my Dolls I had in my Doll Room.
They have a pancake breakfast and sausage breakfast in our town every so often.
If you lose your dog or cat, neighbors will be on the look out for it and help you. The same if your cow or horse jumps the fence, the neighbors will help you find it.
The town is small and we have what we need. Fire Department, local restaurant, convience store, Dollar General Store, Tire Repair Shop, Farm Repair Shop, Co-op, Police Department and Post Office. The town is next to a highway and the highway goes to a hospital near by, stores and what ever you need. We do have plus things in my town. Out town isn't perfect. So read on.
Prompt: What is the most annoying thing about your town?
Annoying things about my town. We used to get cable years ago. The shows had strange, big lines going through your shows. It was hard to tape the shows. The cable wouldn't come in at times. Now, people have dishes. We don't. We have digital TV and the channels don't want to come in. We don't who is to blame for that.
The internet. Our old internet. We hung a box on our TV antenna that would pick up signals from the Co-op and the internet would kick us off or not let us on. Talk about Oliver and Oliver from Hootervile! We don';t have to climb a pole to use our phone but hanging the computer gadget on our TV antenna, never again! We have a monitor and it works better. A lot better. WE have WIFI.
People who gossip and think they are better then others. Rich farmers down the road. I live on the same road as the rich farmers but we aren't rich. We have everything we need and I can buy what ever I want. Not Downton Abbey, a yacht but you get the idea. Most of the farmers have money in land not money, money. I get along with them and their houses aren't fancier then mine. The one guy is and you drive past his house at night, he has lights in his yard and it looks like a landing air strip for planes! I expect to see him directing planes in!
Our land phone cable was hit by a tractor or combine with his planter out and we had no phone or internet. The phone man asked who did it. A friend of ours did by accident but it wasn't Mr. Airstrip, I would have told on him.
The electric goes out. It will take 6 hours or more to get it back on. My husband gets out his generator and we wait until it comes back on.
We were the last ones to get 911 and it didn't work at first. They promised to lower our taxes and it wasn't very much. The one store has false advertising on their sales.
The Post Office is slow at delivering mail and one or twice a week and we don't get mail. They finally paved a gravel road my husband no longer uses. My husband drove down that road to go the family farm {we sold it 2 years ago} It is farmland and the deer and animals play on that road. Why pave it at all? I don't get it. Let the animals have their reserve there. I am a big, animal activist.
The school near by lets out and you need to get out of the way! I think they need a stop light by the highway and school parking lot.
They want to put a freeway in by the highway. We are Hooterville! Leave us alone! It would take ten years to build and they haven't gotten the final okay and I hope they never do. I hope they never do.
That's all I have to say about this.

Prompt: What industry is your town noted for?
That's easy. Farming! Our town, Hamlet, Hooterville is a farming community. Wheat, corn, soybeans, mint, potatoes. Mint has become popular the past few years. When you eat Girl Scout Mint Cookies, a mint blizzard or anything mint, maybe it came from my town. Mint is stored in vinyl, glass like bins. The first time I saw those 15 years ago, I was like what? Farmers haul 3 or 4 mint tubs of mint behind a tractor. You have to stay on your side of the road when driving. Mint will smell for days after it is picked. Don't ever eat it fresh from a mint patch. It will burn your tongue and make you sick. That is why it is mixed with food to make it delicious.
Wheat. We have wheat fields. I think of Garth Brooks song That Summer about a woman seducing him when he worked for her on her farm. Every time, he sees a wheat field, he thinks of her. I think of Sting's Fields Of Gold. The wheat fields are pretty. Be sure and eat your wheaties.
Corn. We have corn fields. WE get corn husks in our yard. I think of Hee Haw and their corn fields and the cast telling jokes. One I thought a corn husk take legs and walked! I was like what? It was a wild turkey and he was in the corn field but all I could see was his legs. No Twilight Zone moment after all.
Soybeans. I loved playing in the soybean wagon when I was a kid. I could have fallen in with the soybeans! Luckily, I didn't.
Potatoes. Potatoes are becoming popular the past few years. We all love French Fries and potatoes. I hope we never have a potato famine.
The Co-op has giant bins that store corn, others for wheat, and others for soybeans. I watched corn fell through an elevator in the ground by the Co-op. The crops are put in giant containers and loaded on a train as the railroad track is near by. The crops go where ever.
Some farmers have their own bins and store crops until they are ready to take them to the co-op or elevator.
Some farmers have their own hens and the hens lay eggs. The eggs are sold from their homes.
Some farmers raise pigs. Baby pigs are so cute. WE know what pigs are used for.
Farming is big around here. We do have dairy farmers. They milk cows and sell the milk.
Some families raise their own food. Animals. They have vegetable gardens and eat carrots, beets, potatoes, onions, pumpkins, radishes and tomatoes.
Me. I go to Walmart, Mejer and Kroger and buy food.
One farmer has a tire shop so you can buy tires for tractors or cars. There is a repair shop for farm machinery. My husband works on starters for cars, tractors, combines and just about everything. He does good off farm machines, repairing starters and alternators.
This is industry in my town. Thanks for reading.

Prompt: Andre the monkey is hungry. Today's prompt is about food and the best place for our buddy to eat in your town.
What food or foods are your town/area noted for? What's the prevalent cuisine? Where is your favorite place to eat out in your neck of the woods?
In Hamlet, we have a restaurant/bar and they offer hamburgers, french fries and chicken. There used to be the Hollywood Restaurant and they offered chicken, salads, spaghetti, lasagna, turkey and all the trimmings.
In a town 20 minutes away, they have a Pizza Hut and of course, you get pizza. There is a Pizza King and you can order pizza, chicken, submarine sandwiches, Ham and Cheese sandwiches, tuna, bacon with all the trimmings sandwiches, fried mushrooms, French Fries, bread sticks and cheese and frozen ice cream sandwiches.
In a town 25 minutes away, you can go to Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell and Bob Evans. I love Bob Evans. You can get breakfast all day. Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Cinnamon Pancakes, Mashed Potatoes and noodles, Turkey Dinner, Shrimp and Fish. Another place is Kristos. You can order fish, shrimp, soup, chicken, breakfast food and you can order pies of every kind and chocolate cakes.
In a town 35 minutes away, you can get steak, chicken, shrimp, appetizers and the famous Howie Cake. It is made with chocolate mouisse, cake and chocolate pudding and it is shaped like a cow. This restaurant is expensive but you can order any kind of food there is.
There is a Chinese Restaurant 15 minutes away from me. I like American Food.
If you like ice cream, there is an ice cream shop in my town. You can get any flavor they make. Ice cream cones, sundaes.
Olive Garden and Red Lobster Restaurants are an hour away. I love seafood and I love shrimp. I would never eat lobster. I like shrimp and noodles mixed together and I love soup and bread sticks at Olive Garden.
KFC is 15 minutes away. If you love chicken, you can get chicken. I love Mac and Cheese.
Panera is 35 minutes away. I love their broccoli and cheese soup and tuna sandwiches and their grilled cheese. You can get a cinnamon roll.
Chickful is a restaurant next to Panera. You can get chicken sandwiches.
We have a Noodle Factory Restaurant next to Panera. You buy mashed potatoes and noodles and all kind of soups.
Barnes and Nobles Starbucks is next door. I like a grilled cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, brownies, chocolate cupcakes. You can read and eat or be on your Lap Top.
If you come to my house, I can make Mac and Cheese, tuna loaf, meatloaf, mashed potatoes or spaghetti.
So this is food in my home town and other eating joints near by. We can go to town and get a gallon of ice cream. I like chocolate chip or anything chocolate and vanilla.
So Andre, after hearing about the food sites and menu choices, what do you want to eat?
