Creative Writing Day. I chose a button box. A button box. Have you ever asked what good is a button box? Surely, your grandmother or mother had one. Buttons are pretty and decorative and some people like to collect them. I used to buy colored buttons for scrapbooking. Old fashioned buttons. They came from clothes from years ago. You wonder what relative wore what and the buttons. What was their story? Buttons in a box can hold old memories and hopefully, good ones. Maybe you need a button if you lost a button off something. Go to the button box and find something that will match your clothing item. Maybe you scrapbook or do a craft, a button is just what you need. So, you find it in the button box. Buttons. Hopefully, they make you smile and fill a need in your life.

Prompt: "Part of what I love about antiques is the history behind them and the stories that they tell." Write about this quote in your Blog entry today.
I do love antiques. When I look at antiques, you have to ask who owned this item and what was their story. If you know the person of the item, it makes you cherish it that much more. Some antiques, you wonder why the person didn't want it. Buying something at an auction that belonged to someone famous will make you love the item that much more. An antique that has been around a hundred years makes the item special. You wish the item could talk for ten minutes and tell you what the person was like who owned it. A history of an antique would make for a good story.

Olivia Newton John. I loved her in Grease with John Travolta. She was a beautiful singer and lady. If Not For You was her first hit song. I was out in the barn with the neighbor boy and his horse and this song came on. The guy David was a good friend but I think of him when I hear this song. In a college talent show, I did a patimome of Olivia Newton John's song If You Love Me, Let me Know. I dressed in a blue and white plaid dress and did this song. Everyone loved it. I remember a song from her first album, Mary Skeffington about a woman who lived in a room upstairs and it reminded me of when I lived with my grandparents. Who could forget the song Fly Away she sang with John Denver? She is in Heaven singing with him now.
I remember Olivia played in a movie A Mom For Christmas. She was a mannequin that came to life and a lonely little girl who had lost her mother. She could only stay until Christmas. The little girl told her father who had fallen for Olivia's character and they were able to hang on to her on Christmas Eve when the wind was trying to take her away. A good ending. A mannequin was alive and became the little girl's stepmother. A sweet Christmas movie.
Olivia. You will be missed but your music lives on. I heard your song If Not For You today. I am sure you are smiling and happy.

Prompt: Do you think you already become who you are or is there area for change for growth?
I have done the Nursing thing, being a wife and mother. I am a writer who will never be finished but I think leaving two published books behind say a lot about me. I just live each day as it comes and try to be a better Christian. I don't plan on being a singer, politician{like never, never!} I am just happy to live another day and want to go shopping, go to the Beach and have no Doctor appointments. Change and growth? Be nicer to people and have them be nicer to me as well. I hope others enjoy what I write. Be happy!

Prompt: For the Rock Star Merit Badge. We are to write about our favorite Rock Star growing up, did we ever see them perform in concert, collect their music, join their Fan Club or hang their pictures on the wall?
David Cassidy. I fell in love with him when I watched The Partridge Family. Keith Partridge. I wanted to date him! He was on TV. I had records of him and The Partridge Family. Keep in mind. This made David Cassidy a Rock Star. He did all the singing. He redid the song Cherish. I enjoyed his singing. He was a heart throb. I joined The Partridge Family Club. I got 8 by 10 paper, black and white pictures of him and the group in a folder. What? No glossy pictures of David Cassidy with an autograph. I had his pictures on my wall. I saw him when I got out of bed. I would sing: "I woke up in love this morning." I wouldn't miss an episode of The Partridge Family.
Sadly, I never saw him in concert. I have color pictures of him on my computer. He died a few years back and there wasn't a book published about him. It is like he wasn't important but he was to me. He wasn't pure like Keith Partridge but are any of us perfect? When The Partridge Family ended, there were no more Partridge songs and you didn't hear much about David Cassidy. I guess he had four years of fame. I watched The David Cassidy Movie last weekend and shed a tear. That was a long time ago. He lives in my heart.

Prompt: "To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." Audrey Hepburn
I haven't planted flowers in quite a few years except the ones I get free from Church on Mother's Day. My husband planted it for me. It grows beautifully. The colors are orchid, pink and white. A garden. I have never planted a garden. Working midnights. I didn't have time. A garden of vegetables is food for people. My father and mother used to make meals out of their garden. Boring. I buy my vegetables at the store. Back to the quote. Planting a garden like flowers can make you happy and a better promise of tomorrow. You plant a garden. You expect a tomorrow and more tomorrows, so you have your vegetables to eat and watching your garden grow makes you happy. Flowers always did did for me. I do enjoy the one pot of flowers I have. I used to have a dozen flowers. One pot of lowers is enough for me. I am not a gourmet cook so I have no need for a vegetable garden. I do admire Audrey's attitude about a garden and believing in tomorrow.

We want good things to happen and we pray for them to happen. You need to try and get the job, make good grades in school, have a good marriage and good kids. You try to have a good life and do the right thing. You have to try first and pray to God and he will help you. It may take awhile but keep trying and praying. Audrey is right. Good things like money and power fall into your lap if you are born into it but for the rest of us, we work for what we get. Always ask God for help and keep doing your part. You can say, I did it! I earned it! Thank you, God.
