I am with you. I never have understood the whole "Blog" thing and what it means. I think Journal or Diary is a better word for what goes on with me.

It is one of those things that creeps up on us. I have no idea what Vlog is either.

Journal makes sense to me. But I can call it what they want me to call it to get along and be nice.

I am sure there is something I am missing in my understanding.

I love the movie, too.

My Mom kept her original 1939 program for the movie and I have it.

My Mom's favorite movie was The Sound of Music, but she loved Gone With the Wind, too. It came out with a premier in Atlanta right when World War II was starting in Europe.

I think Gone With the Wind perked up the country. It won a lot of well deserved rewards.

Clark Gable should have won for Best Actor. But Robert Donat won that year for Goodbye Mr. Chips. Goodbye Mr. Chips is not a movie that stands the test of time. Gone With the Wind does.

I love all the characters. Scarlett was so beautiful.

I love the man who plays her Dad, Thomas Mitchell, too. He won an Oscar that year, but not for Gone With The Wind. He got Best Supporting Actor for Stage Coach.

I have a whole book about movies that year in 1939 as it is thought of as the best year ever for movies. Gone With the Wind certainly led the way as it still shines brightly all these years later.

I watched the church service on the live stream this past week. The sermon got way too political in one direction. I was like, "what?". So, I was glad not to be there in person but I guess that isn't nice on my part. I have noticed a certain slant, but nothing this overtly hostile in a sermon. It wasn't the main minister, but whatever. Since my neighbor's not going I guess I will stream it for a while and lay low.

I love the original Top Gun movie, it's one of my favourite films, I went to see the new one when it came out - Top Gun Maverick - and I did enjoy it but I thought the original was still better

Cooking Meals

Prompt: Do you like cooking meals that take time or do you like keeping them short and simple?

Short and simple! I make pork chops. I fry them and have baked potatoes from the microwave. I cook vegetable soup in a the Crock Pot but my husband does that now that he is retired. I make a roast in a Crock Pot. we put a frozen pizza in the oven or make fish and French Fries in the oven. I cook frozen dinners in the microwave. Sandwiches are nice. Ordering Take Out. We make a turkey o Thanksgiving with all the trimmings. THAT is my big meal I cook for the year. My husband bakes the turkey. My husband likes to make chicken in the Rous Terrie. I like making my meals simple.

Teddy Bears

Prompt: National Teddy Bear Day. Write about Teddy Bears.

Teddy Bears. I love Teddy Bears. I have a lavender 💜 Teddy Bear named Prince my husband bought me after Prince died. I have a white Teddy Bear 🧸 I bought at a Alice Cooper Concert. The bear is white and has black make up on his face and wears a jacket that says Alice Cooper on it.

I have a brown bear that survived a fire and I named him Stefano after the villian on Days Of Our Lives.

I have a purple beanie Princess Diana Bear. I loved Princess Diana.

Teddy Bears are comforting. I have ones from Walmart that are white and dressed up. I have brown ones.

Teddy Bears add so much to our lives. They are like long lost friends. Everyone knows a Teddy Bear and you can tell them your secrets and they won't eat all your food.

My Angelina Ballerina Bear was a gift from my husband after my hernia surgery. She comforted me.

1. Spirit In The Sky By Norman Greenbaum
I love this song. I want this song played at my funeral. I am a Christian.
2. Take On Me By Aha
This song came out when Inworked at the county home and I was so happy when I first started. This job changed hands and things got really bad. I did love this song.
3. Indiana Wants Me By RD Taylor.
I loved this song. I felt sorry for the guy. He regretted his crime. He deserved a happy ending.
4. The Night Chicago Died By Paperlace
Al Capone and the bad gangsters. Al Capone and John Dillinger hung out in my area before I was born. All the bad guys hung out in Indiana where I live now.
5. I'm Gonna Be 500 Miles
This song was in Benny and Joon. Celtic Thunder sang it. It is a cute song.

Cats

Prompt: Joy asked us if we like cats and why some people get along with cats better then other animals.

I love cats. I have a tortoise shell cat Bella. She knocks over my trash cans, runs wild and loves to lay on blankets. She loves being petted. She looks at me with her big eyes. She understands what I go through. I love her dearly.

I talk to her and she doesn't understand everything I say. I think she gets it. Cats purr and it is comforting. I love animals more then people. They don't judge you. Cats want to be petted, give them food, water, a nice bed, love and pay attention to them. Cats are sweet and caring. I hope this makes you want a kitty of your own.

Hand Written Thank You Cards

Prompt: Do you think hand written Thank You Cards are important to write to Thank family and friends who gave you Bridal, Shower and Baby Gifts?

Yes. Three family members and myself bought a baby stroller and coat for my cousin's baby girl. The baby's mother never sent a Thank You. In this day and age, everyone wants to text or email Thank Yous. Handwritten Thank You Cards are a thing of the past. It has been years since I got a Thank You Card for a gift.

Happiness, Friends

Prompt: Joy asked us about happiness and what if everyone treated each other like friends. I am doing a combination of prompts.

Happiness. Being happy is having a good marriage, well behaved kids, pets you love and a job that makes you happy. You have money left over to buy fun things and nice things. You have good health. That's happiness. I get nice things but I wish I was able to go back to Michigan fir a short visit.I just had knee replacement so I am hoping I will be better soon.

My job would start out good in nursing and bosses and company take overs made a job miserable. I thought when I retired, I would be happy. You get health issues. You go to Church and this helps. God is with us. He does let problems enter and answers prayers in his own time. I am not very patient. I just want my knee to heal from knee replacement and be able to shop, go out to lunch, go to Lake Michigan and enjoy life. I enjoy writing and being on here. I enjoy my friends. I hope when my knee heals, I will be happy and dance like the big party woman in the Jardiance commercial.

If we all treated each other like friends, there wouldn't be any wars or violence. The world would be a better place and we would be happy. If only.

Like Jimmy Buffet sings, Come Monday, it will be alright. I pray it will. How are things your way?
