"Hallelujah"
by Pentatonix

On the Fifth Day of Christmas, I had to settle on a Pentatonix Christmas song to feature. There are so many great options, but I finally chose this one because I think their vocal talents really lend themselves well to the style and the tone of the song. Some of the songs they do don't always lend themselves well to a capella stylings, but in this case I think it really works. It's one of my favorite songs to listen to every Christmas.

"This Could Be Heaven"
by Seal
from The Family Man

On the Fourth Day of Christmas, I picked the song from the end credits of The Family Man, one of my family's favorite Christmas movies. We just watched it again tonight and Nicolas Cage does such a great job as the lead role in the adaptation of It's A Wonderful Life. Rewatching it tonight, I was surprised at how many other established actors made an appearance, from Jeremy Piven to Kate Walsh to Ken Leung to Amber Valletta.

I'm a sucker for movies that explore alternate timelines and the "what ifs" of what could have happened if a character had made a slightly different choice at one point in their life, and this was a particularly good version of that story. I had also completely forgotten that Brett Ratner of all people directed it!
