DAY 14

"GOODBYE YESTERDAY"
by ELEVATION RHYTHM

This song is one that I've been playing a lot when I need to feel inspired. ELEVATION RHYTHM is a Christian music collective out of Charlotte, North Carolina and I'm almost positive that I've featured some of their songs in my playlists before. I don't know much about their church specifically other than their worship team, but they manage to come up with great song after great song to, well, elevate people's spirits.

The main verse from the song really resonates with me, almost like a mantra that you can repeat over and over again, as a reminder that today is a new day, and you have the opportunity to leave your past behind you.

Goodbye, yesterday
I'm livin' in the light of a new day
I won't waste another minute in my old ways
Praise the Lord, I've been born again

The secondary verse from the song is also really catchy and a great reminder that God has done incalculable good in our lives and continues to give us something to celebrate.

Again and again and again and again
You rescued me out of the mess I was in
You traded my sorrow for something to sing
Now, I'm dancin' on the grave that I once lived in

More than anything, this is just a feel-good songs that's lifted my spirits more than once this year.
