I learned to cook from cookbooks (no such cooking happened when I was growing up...we were given McDonalds, or...nothing much at all). Once learning to cook, I used to, when my kids were growing up, cook Thanksgiving and Christmas meals completely from scratch. Now that they have grown, not so much is from Scratch.

I taught my husband what I know. We joke that he will be able to survive on his own, once I am gone. ;)

I would so love to learn the Art...and I am sure that it Is an Art, of cooking Asian dishes. Yummy! I am sure that I could learn, with much TIME and ERROR...sigh.

. It shows up from time to time on cable TV channels like Lifetime and Hallmark, and I think it's currently available on an off-brand streaming service as well.

Microwaves can be tricky...I mean...

Ours has a tendency to shut off halfway through baking potatoes....YES, we bake our potatoes in the microwave, as it Used to be quicker than other means.

Now, what with 5 minute intervals of it needing to shut off, every ten minutes...sigh.

It looks like we will soon be purchasing a New one that we will need to...Figure out how to navigate.

I've never understood people fangirling. Maybe it's because I've worked in a comedy club for years so I've worked with some well-known celebrities... didn't change a damn thing. "Oh, you're T.J. Miller? Nice, dude. Do you want a drink or...?"

I honestly have never idolized a celebrity, so I guess I wouldn't have a reason to get excited anyway. We're all humans.

Maybe it's just me.

Nice choices, Jeff. I want to go and see Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, but have to convince my wife she'd like it. As for Tron: Ares--I've been disappointed in any of the sequels. Maybe too much time passed after the original.

We've enjoyed The Rainmaker. Sometimes we, too, want to reach out and throttle Rudy. I've never read any of Grisham's work, so am unfamiliar with his style. But the Boy Scout act of Rudy's is pretty thick. One other show we enjoy is The Diplomat.

I think it's fitting that I started "Invalid Item"

with a song from a Norwegian glam metal band, and I'm finishing out this year's playlist with a Swedish heavy metal band from the country next door. This is also the perfect song to end this year's playlist with because it's a really high energy song about how music endures. At least in this context, it's a promise that there's more music blogging to come. The song says it all: "you can't kill my rock 'n roll."

I'd actually like to dedicate this year's final blog entry to all of my fellow Soundtrackers who shared some fantastic music over the past month. In particular:

for including "Happy" and "Can't Stop The Feeling," which are two of my kids' favorite songs.
