I hope everyone in the U.S. celebrated our nation's independence in style. It was a bittersweet day for me; I spent it with my cousins and their friends and got to see fireworks from the balcony of their condo... but it's also the first day of my wife's two-week mission trip to Brazil. She's going with her sister's church and they're going to the rural area around Sao Paulo to run a children's summer program. I can't begin to describe how proud I am of her for taking this opportunity, but this is also the longest we've been apart since we've been married, and I think it's going to be tough on both of us.
For the next couple of weeks, I hope to get some writing done, some reviewing done, and maybe even get caught up on all the movies I've been meaning to see in theaters. Might as well make the most of my temporary bachelorhood.
