I am a professional musician  , worship leader , small business owner , songwriter , aspiring author and freelance nonfiction writer with a chemical engineering degree .
But that's just my resume.
My profile of qualifications is only one of the ways in which I am unique. Here I chronicle my personal and professional goals and my efforts to achieve them. Occasionally I fail. Mostly, I take daily baby steps toward all my long-term goals. Much like the stories I pen, the songs I compose, and the businesses I run, I am always a work in progress.

Launch one new Potbelly song per week.

Post at WordPress at least once per month.

Launch one new Praise Band song per month.
 Goal met, and I've made plans for several launches in December. Advent/Christmas, you know. 
Write one new original song per month.
In progress, working on "Invalid Item" . It's hard to do at my Monday/Tuesday store, because the crowd is light, and I'm highly amplified. In contrast, my Thursday-Saturday store is typically crowded, and the manager always turns my volume way down, so I can get away with muttering, humming, and otherwise trying things out! I'm working there tomorrow this week (because I'm pre-empted Saturday for the OSU/Michigan game), so I may get the chance to work on it.
Write new lyrics once per day through November.
Fail.
Earn at least $60 per pay period at Textbroker.
In progress. I completed an article this morning worth $7.99. I think it was four minutes late, and I'm not even sure how I managed that, because I thought the article would automatically get snagged out of my queue at the deadline.  The article I signed up for this morning has a five-day deadline, which is much better than those stupid 24-hour varieties.
Current Balance: $17.70, with $7.99 pending client acceptance. Due date: 11/20/09. I think I need to work faster. 
Earn at least $25 per month at Helium.

Resign from Abbott by 6/1/10.

Achieve a weight of 145.0 by Thanksgiving.

7:00am Fiber English muffin (1) with butter (1), small piece bacon (1), 1/4 cup eggnog (2), and coffee (1)
9:30am Nuts (1.5) and coffee (1)
1:45pm Skinny roast beef sandwich (7)
7:00pm Champps: Tomato soup (3?), half turkey club sandwich w/o mayo (8?), and a big ass stupid pile of chips that I should have told them to hold off my plate (6?).
7:30pm Tall, nonfat, peppermint white mocha (6)
TOTAL POINTS: 38.5
Current real estate goal: Organize garage.
No activity.
Read a book in print for fifteen minutes every day.
No activity.
Business: Location. Start looking into real estate opportunities.
I sent an email to some friends in the arts, and one wrote back with some really good suggestions. Technically, that's not something *I* did, but, hey: I made the bed, and now I'm sleeping in it. (You know how I love those cliches!)
Business: Music Instruction Books.
