La Bene Vita
I am a professional musician , worship leader , small business owner , songwriter , aspiring author and freelance nonfiction writer with a chemical engineering degree .
But that's just my resume.
My profile of qualifications is only one of the ways in which I am unique. Here I chronicle my personal and professional goals and my efforts to achieve them. Occasionally I fail. Mostly, I take daily baby steps toward all my long-term goals. Much like the stories I pen, the songs I compose, and the businesses I run, I am always a work in progress.

Launch one new Potbelly song per week.
Goal met. Today I launched "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," "Black Velvet," and "You Shook Me All Night Long." I'd say that makes up for missing a new song last week.
Launch one new Praise Band song per month.
Goal met.
Submit one short story/article per month.
Goal met with a short story submission to a fantasy ezine earlier this month, and I also submitted a children's article yesterday! I found "forever" stamps that I forgot I had and tried to use my mailbox. We'll see if it works.
Write one new original song per month.
Goal met: "Inside These Walls" [ASR] Two additional songs in progress.
Post at WordPress at least once per week.
Goal met.
Write one Helium or Textbroker article per week.

Work for fifteen minutes on "Poor Witch" [E] every day.
No activity.
Complete and edit "Poor Witch" [E] by 6/30/09.
In progress.
Read a book in print for fifteen minutes every day.
Goal met. I finished the first Elizabeth Peters book that MaryLou sent me. I like her. She's an intellectual writer with a sharp wit and a decent knack for suspense.
Resign from Abbott by 12/1/09.
In progress. Potbelly took my amplifier away, and they're running me through the PA like they used to, which just makes me a little less visible and more like background. It's a little disappointing, but I'm going to see if I can buy that amp for a really good price. I'm the only one who's really touched it.
And now that the piano tuner is done, it's time to try to get ahold of the other Potbelly again and see if I can pick up extra shifts. |
