My profile of qualifications is only one of the ways in which I am unique. Here I chronicle my personal and professional goals and my efforts to achieve them. Occasionally I fail. Mostly, I take daily baby steps toward all my long-term goals. Much like the stories I pen, the songs I compose, and the businesses I run, I am always a work in progress.

Launch one new Potbelly song per week.

Write three Helium article by 6/24/09.
Fail. I needed to achieve this in order to get paid this month; you have to have a balance of $25 in your Helium account to request payment, and I only have about $23. One more article would have boosted me into payout range. Since I missed the deadline, I'll just have to wait until next month to get paid, and it won't take another article to do it. My Internet traffic payments on existing articles will easily boost me over the $25 mark. Therefore, I could cancel this goal.

I'm on the fence over this goal, though. I am back on 2nd shift, and with Keith and I working different hours, I have time to work on writing and music goals in the morning. I'd rather spend the time with him *Heart* but since it's not an option, I might as well make productive use of my time.

Submit one short story/article per month.
Pending... and I have today and tomorrow to do this. I had two rejections this month, so I have the opportunity to resubmit both my short story and my article. I just need to find the next market.

Work for fifteen minutes on "Poor WitchOpen in new Window. [E] every day.
Fail.

Complete and edit "Poor WitchOpen in new Window. [E] by 6/30/09.

Read a book in print for fifteen minutes every day.
*Check*Goal met! I am reading Street of the Five Moons by Elizabeth Peters. I love this author. MaryLou Author Icon sent me a box of books just because she's so darned awesome, and it included a slew of books by Peters. She's so flippin' intellectual, and yet still entertaining. *Thumbsup*

Resign from Abbott by 12/1/09.
In progress. It will be interesting to see how this ends up unfolding. My budget plan includes +/- three month flexibility, depending on (1) how much my job sucks starting as early as September, and (2) how much money I want to throw in a savings account before I leave. I'm getting so close!
