La Bene Vita
I am a professional musician , worship leader , small business owner , songwriter , aspiring author and freelance nonfiction writer with a chemical engineering degree .
But that's just my resume.
My profile of qualifications is only one of the ways in which I am unique. Here I chronicle my personal and professional goals and my efforts to achieve them. Occasionally I fail. Mostly, I take daily baby steps toward all my long-term goals. Much like the stories I pen, the songs I compose, and the businesses I run, I am always a work in progress.

Is it really only Tuesday?
Gah. Project scope creep... I volunteered to overhaul my church website, and I've been working hours and hours on it since the weekend. It's like that project where you take that single pile of random papers on the corner of your desk, sort half of the pile into ordered piles all over the office, and then getting interrupted in the middle of the project. Now you have thirty piles all over your office instead of one, and they aren't even completely ordered yet, let alone filed away.
My church website is in thirty piles right now.

Goal met. Sigh. Commercial Property #2 doesn't like my financials and wants more guarantees and data. Meanwhile, Commercial Property #1 came back and begged for my business, saying they agree to the lease changes that they originally said they wouldn't do. *feels like a yo-yo*
Perform one household chore per day.
Goal met, although the boy did *much* more than I this weekend. He did the dishes, cleaned out the gutters, scrubbed the siding, and mowed the lawn. All I did was train the 12-year-old how to do laundry in exchange for Wizard101 money.
Read a book in print 15 minutes every day.
Goal met.
