I am a professional musician , worship leader , small business owner , songwriter , aspiring author and freelance nonfiction writer with a chemical engineering degree .
But that's just my resume.
My profile of qualifications is only one of the ways in which I am unique. Here I chronicle my personal and professional goals and my efforts to achieve them. Occasionally I fail. Mostly, I take daily baby steps toward all my long-term goals. Much like the stories I pen, the songs I compose, and the businesses I run, I am always a work in progress.

NEW GOAL: Learn one new cover band song per week.
Goal met. I downloaded more tab and listened to my YouTube playlist again. These guys are into more punk than raw rock, but it'll be fun. Maybe I'll convert them over time. 
Launch one new Potbelly song per week.
I played through "Smells Like Teen Spirit" again, but haven't tried to sing it. I'm not 100% positive that I have the chord progression right in the "Hello..." part. But I did launch "Luka" by Suzanne Vega.
Write one new original song per month.
Goal met: "Longing" [13+]
Work on music instruction books for fifteen minutes per day.
Fail. I opened my outline yesterday, so maybe I'll actually work on it this morning.
Post at WordPress at least once per week.
Goal met. I was such a liar yesterday when I said, "I'm doing this now!" I didn't get to it until later last night. But it's done! http://michelletuesday.wordpress.com
Write one Textbroker article per week.
Goal met. I wrote one new article yesterday and committed to completing one today. In addition, I've received a direct order from the client who contacted me.
Submit one short story/article per month.
Pending, but my short stories need editing first, and who has time? Meanwhile, nonfiction turns out to be somewhat lucrative.
Work for fifteen minutes on "Poor Witch" [E] every day.
Fail.
Complete and edit "Poor Witch" [E] by 6/30/09.
Fail.
Read a book in print for fifteen minutes every day.
Goal met! Although, at midnight last night, it was technically today?
Resign from Abbott by 12/1/09.
In progress.
Reach 140.0 lbs by 8/21/2009.
Weight: 145.4
I have one week to lose five pounds. Can it be done? Ooh! Ooh! ...and I need to buy a new swimsuit before hittin' the beach next weekend.
