Living By Faith
BEING BORN FROM ABOVE
While there is no special formula to follow to be born from above, there are certain things we must know and do.
What we must know:
> That we are sinners who are hopelessly lost and under condemnation of death. Spiritual death is everlasting separation from God in Hell.
> We cannot save ourselves by any effort of our own.
> That Jesus Christ, God's Son, died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay the penalty of our sin.
What we must do:
> Admit to God that we have sinned, and deserve the penalty of death.
> Receive Jesus as our personal Savior.
> Acknowledge Christ as our Savior and Lord by confessing Him with our mouth.
What God will do:
> Make us safe.
> Forgive all our sins.
> Give us eternal life.
Do you want to be sure? If so, pray something like this (or use your own words).
Lord Jesus, I have sinned against you, and I deserve hell. I believe You died in my place to pay the penalty for all my sins. Right now, be merciful to me and save me. I trust you as my Lord and Savior and commit my life to you. Amen.

I confess I am bold
when I go to God in prayer
because Jesus beckons me
to go to the Father with bold,
frank and confident requests.
I make my need known to God
fully expecting Him to answer me.
He is my Father,
I am His adopted child.
He wants me to be bold enough
to ask Him to meet my needs.
He promises never to withold
any good thing from me.

"Followers" ( The Greek word is mimetes)
It means to imitate something or do what you see someone else do.
Lord,
help me put my unsanctified
emotions
thoughts
feelings
and behavior aside
so I can start acting like You.
Seeing things from
power and glory.
Help me to think like You
act like You
and respond like You.
Amen

Thank You, Lord.
My redemption
Is not something
I am trying to get.
You have already bought me
Back out of sin and
I do not belong to myself
Please help me renew
Every area of my mind,
So I can enjoy the liberty
You have purchased for me.
Give me the desire to experience
Your freedom in every area
Of my life.

as a rushing stream
overflowing its banks
and inseparable partners -
the Holy Spirit and Jesus
Jesus depended on His
flow of power
flow of wisdom
flow of counsel
flow of ability
flowing through Him
flowing upon Him
so are believers to be
as Jesus was in His earthly ministry

The Holy Spirit of God
literally abides in me
no longer temporary
or fleeting
as people in the Old Testament
He took up residency
and dwells permanently
never moves
never wavers
never packs His bags
He is not a guest
He is my Partner
He will take me to Heaven one day

when we act like the world
talk like the world
believe like the world
respond like the world
the Spirit of God
feels shock
feels hurt
feels grief
He longs for us
He thinks about us
He desires to be close to us
He wants to reveal Himself to us
He lives within
and will always be within
I will not drag Him down a mire of sin
For He would go with me again
