| She and I are lovers of spring, New butterflies and midges, And all that swim in the sea of pollen, On the banks of the Blue River, We slumber together as if one. |
White curls tinged with gold, He whines to get his way. His tongue welcomes fatty treats. He appreciates grooming, baby talk, And tickles under his chin. |
| My adopted mother was no saint. She delivered me from certain ruin, On the outskirts of a small midwestern town. She took me in at the age of three, Because she loved me. |
| Wake naturally, Appreciate each day, Learn to identify bird songs, Wash your dishes, Endure the pain of retirement. |
