Nah… I’ll need to get used to juggling an iPad and possibly actually learning to type. It’s sheer laziness mostly, and it’s easier to hold a phone in bed than a tablet

I’m fortunate that wasn’t my “calling” phone, just my “scribbling“ one. Hope I didn’t sound overdramatic

What a busy bee you are! I am exhausted just reading your achievements. Good for you! You are an inspiration~ Whereas I've to deal with the perspiration of checking stuff out. Keep up the good work, and enjoy a few days off before the next adventure begins...

It's too bad your boss at the Christian charity workshop, turned so nasty when you were able to return after a month out due to the Covid rules. I guess it made him so angry that it happened, he took it out on the employees.

It's always a good idea to keep up with cursive writing. These days the youth don't even bother anymore. I like the fact that they probably need translations for handwritten notes!

I'm guilty of not hand writing much. But, years of overworked fingers and hands led to arthritis in those joints which makes it difficult.

Great music themes to get your creativity up.

Radioactive was played on a loop in stores like Walmart, grocery stores, even Staples! It still pops in my head like a brain worm I can't shake.

However, I have a couple daughters living in CA who would always go to ID's concerts whenever they were in the area.

But yeah, music does attach to us in a way that's undeniable. I love background music when I'm doing stuff. It seems to make chores less "chorey."

. Writing with music playing, I believe, heightens the creative output.

Thief, by ID

My next track—don't worry, there's only a few left!—is a bonus off the tail end of the 2015 Imagine Dragons album Smoke + Mirrors.

Being one of a handful of extra songs, it did not have its own painting from artist Tim Cantor.

Sound:
Thief has a "larger than life" style, bombastic and exaggerated, with somewhat more of a Night Visions feel than a S+M feel to it. The drums are enormous, the guitars are suspenseful… some of the most "adventuresome," built-up tracks on S+M are the bonuses. At least two of them were used as movie soundtracks.

The bridge gives a pause, synesthetically twinkling into a slow buildup and return to the chorus.

Lead singer Dan Reynolds' voice seems especially high and thin, almost weak, on Thief, perhaps overwhelmed by the wall-of-sound production.

Theme:
Thief has some of my favorite lyrics of all of ID: poetic, thoughtful, and super simple to memorize and repeat. Dan mourns the loss of what he sees as his youthful boldness, pointing out his observation of the world's descent into a cynical refusal to face the truth.

Significance:
I've sung the two verses of Thief to myself far more often than I played the song over the years. In fact, I gave the words my own melody, turning Dan's slow, moody intonation into a quicker, more playful sort of jingle.

Oddly enough, I don't seem to have a lot to say about this song even though I love singing it. That's probably a good thing
