FYI --- everyone. This contest opened last Spring because the title was important in order to match ---
Much happened to me since then. I became unemployed this month. Not good, but happens nationwide. All along we hear about helping each other. I hope this contest hopes you excel and your writing goes TTT --- to the top. Your personal satisfaction with a great story or poem is always evident for any contest, offsite or onsite, my friends.
I've repeatedly asked for donations and am quite pleased with the starting line response. Much thanks goes out to these donors. However, the contest shall go on as stated in the intro. But this year ... The Christmas Contest shall take a back seat to a DECEMBER BLOG CONTEST. More about that later. Rather in the planning stages presently. I am staying on WDC, but lurking as far and wide as suitable at this time. My SEPT/ OCTOBER theme for my new blog rivets on a closer look at the Internet. So, pop over there any time. "FICTION FANDANGO, A WRITER'S BLOG!" 
WE (and here I include posters & contestants, ME: WE since there is no "EVERYONE HAS A HALLOWEEN STORY " without all of you) ... WE shall see as originally promised ... one first place for THE BEST story and 100,000 gp.
Poetry likewise --- one BEST POEM shall be awarded 20,000 gp.

NEXT order of business --- I'm hoping to use snail mail for that Blog Challenge. Anyone remember that? And am taking a Post Office Box today for the presently un-announced blogging contest ala TEFF. There will be a cash prize of $20 for twenty days of blogging and an entrance fee. You must understand that often we do see flash fiction contests which are numerically on the rise on the NET. I intend to read all entries here start to finish because I want all writers to be able to languish creatively without barriers, thus enjoy that extra space in a no word length short story in order to produce THE BEST STORY.
This reading takes time, thus the entry fees shall apply. Also, thanks for listening BTW --- Also in a short story I wrote in 2007, I so wanted to make this story a winner. It never made the grade, even with me due to the cutoff of 3,500 words. That story is being revised. And is already online. I have written thirty short stories to date (since 2002) and if you peruse my blog you may gain info on plans for selling those stories.
WDC supplies an excellent base for this author (moi) for an entire five years, total time next week on Oct 9, 2009, my five year anniversary. I walked the walk, talked the talk and am still trying my best to harness and unleash my own personal style of authorship.
AT: "AUTHORS DISCUSSION CLUB" I share author-to-author hints via informal monthly newsletters. These are available on "RIDING THE WRITERS WAVE OPENS" as an archive prior to Sept 2K'9. All new e-newsletters are ADC CLUB only.
One final hint for your entries. Please don't forget that not everything written must adhere to using perfect tenses.
