Thanks for your replies, and as advised, I am going to chose an essay topic or randomly pick one to write on. Since I've never written one, i am also going to write a short story, and knowing how to write one is of paramount importance considering my ultimate objective. Also, I do have a book that I'm using to brush-up and further refine my writing, however, it is a bit dated. It's the Fourth Edition of the title "William Strunk JR. And E.B. White", better known as "Strunk and White". But, just to be sure, I will make purchase of "The blue book" and "The Writers Options."
