Question about the Bio Block

I hope my completely newbie questions are not getting on anyone's nerves.

I have been getting the newb tips in my mail here. One of the things I noticed is that there is an emphasis placed on our bio blocks. I was wondering what you all considered important to put in your bio block, and what information you think detracts from it?
