I remember when I was a little hatching in High School, my English teacher Mrs. Curtis read one of my works and was thrilled at my word choices (which I used from a Thesaurus...don't tell her, okay?). Then I wanted to be a comic book writer in college (which went down in flaming poo). Then I tried my hand at freelancing writer...signed up with Odesk...only to be spanked by the competition and finding that most of the hirers want to pay freelancers peanuts (they would be better getting Gollum from Lord of the Rings to write their copy than me). Sorry, I do not mind hardwork...hardwork + smarts is better. So I was racking my brain on how to make more money for the home when I tried another venture which did not pay well. Finally, my blushing bride (who has told me before that I was a great writer) stated that she believed in my writing...I felt like jumping on our dinner table and showing the 'S' on my chest. Now I tried Writing.com before (many, many moons ago) and did not do well. I returned and have immersed myself into the experience and the pay-off has been amazing. So what are you doing to improve your writing daily? ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
