It's making me do it to! I am normally not a big researcher when it comes to writing novels, but as you said, it is a necessity because otherwise it would take time out of my November writing, or worse yet, I wouldn't do it at all!

I am researching everything related to Dungeons and Dragons: classes, races, pictures of minis, history and versions, pop culture references, even those crazy people who think it's evil and have tried to ban it throughout the years. It's a blast.
