I never do research during the first draft at any time of year. It's always small details (or major plot points) so I just mark the passage by underlining or turning it red on my file and maybe put a footnote (I like Outasync's edit sheet idea, because then the note won't affect the wordcount) so I can move on. December's soon enough to sort out small detailswhich came up during NaNo.
