The vampiric queen walked her castles dark grounds and smelled blood in the air. She followed the smell and came to an onyx black dragon. He was bleeding profusely and she sat down on her knees beside him. Softly rubbing the dragon's head, she placed her other hand over his wound. He winced and growled at her. "Tis alright my draconic friend. I am Marion Choiseul." He kept growling and writhing in pain. "Shhh my dragon prince. You will be well soon." Marion closed her eyes and began to hum a tune. One the the wounded dragon seemed to recognize. His deep growls faded as she continued humming. She took his arm and rested it on her leg. As she opened her eyes, her pupils glowed red in the pit of the black eye sockets. The dragon held Marion's gaze, trusting and calm. For the first time, he spoke. "Mi'lady Marion. I am ... I have no name." The sadness he felt ripped her dark soul apart. "Tis alright. I shall call you Onyx." He looked at his skin and smiled. He met her gaze again. "Onyx is perfect." The humming stopped and Marion finished her healing work. She let go of his arm. "You will share my home with me. You will be cherished, respected, and loved." His eyes brightened like the silvery moon. "Thank you, Your Heiness." She giggled. "You may call me Marion." Once Onyx was able to stand on his own, the two began to walk. Marion led him into her castle and showed him his room. "You are free to roam the grounds." Onyx looked around and investigated his new surroundings. His sense of wonder was refreshing to Marion.
